Exhaust pipe fell off -- so I ditched it for this
My exhaust pipe from the muffler to the tip has been abused a bit, and it came loose. So I have decided to leave it off because it sounds better this way! Also, I didn't like how close the pipe came to the spare (which is a 31" on my truck) and how the pipe kept getting thrust up into the body coming off hills.
So, I put this crappy dump on it to just angle the exhaust down and back. Just a piece I got at the local NAPA around the corner from work. It's underneath so I don't care and yes it's got a "crimp" bend but for that distance it can't mean much with 3.0 seeing as it's a 2.5" pipe. Hard to tell from the photo but it clears everything by 4" on either side or so. Not close to anything at all.
Still sounds deeper and more "rumble" than before! I like it.
I had to cut off the old clamp. It was pretty bad even after only 2 years.

i always heard that mandrel bends were the way to go not only for power, but sound...i'm thinkin of doin the same thing, kinda similar turn down tip too, but just wondering about sound..if its even an issue
plus i think it'll be cool to crank it up this winter and see a big fog rollin out from underneath the truck
