Performance upgrades

What are the best value performance upgrades I can make to my 2005 Ranger Edge 4x4 with a 4.0L, automatic, Flowmaster, 93k miles, 33" A/T's on 15x10 alloys? Air intake? Tuner? Throttle body spacer? Sorry but I'm used to diesels.

Tuner---DEFINITELY--worth every penny-especially with an auto
Throttle Body Spacer---Waste of $$
Air Intake---You'll get a million different opinions--I love my aFe, but a drop-in K&N is probably better.
At 93K---plugs, wires, fuel filter, Seafoam, synthetics

I got my XCal2 about 3 years ago from BamaChips. There are newer versions out now. Check out SCT Performance - More Power! Less Fuel! I'd get something that has some custom tunes in it-i have 87 performance, 87 torque, and 93 hi performance. Then do a search for a dealer.

are tuners worth it for standard trucks since you cant change shift points and stuff?

I personally think that being able to adjust shift points and shift firmness are the two biggest advantanges of a tuner. For obvious reasons, you don't get that with a stick, but there is still some power to be had with a tuner depending on your existing mods--not a lot, but the tune can be custom tailored to your mods to some extent. Just remember-these trucks aren't diesels-you're not going to gain 50 HP and 150 ft/lb by plugging-n a tuner.

as far as intake goes you could take out the air silencer and put a drop in k&N filter. I felt like i gain a little bit of power mainly more throttle response though. I also have a throttle body spacer not sure if i gained any power but deffinatly noticed throttle response improvement. also if you haven't done a tune up i would suggest that.
