My 1990 Ranger used to start up right away. Lately it takes a few seconds, and if I turn the engine off and try to start it up again to soon, it acts acts as if the battery doesn't have enough juice and won't start. After waiting about 30 minutes, it starts again. The battery is fine. Any suggestions?

 

If you have the tools, Check your battery voltage while sitting and compare it to your voltage while cranking. A fully charged (alternator charges it as you drive, battery should be fully charged after driving) battery should have 12.6v while sitting with the key off. Minimum voltage while cranking the engine is 9.6v. If the voltage is low while cranking, have you battery and charging system load tested to ensure they're correct. Also clean battery connections.

In all honesty, if you let the engine cool and it seems to start better, I would guess its the starter.
