Some type of valve leaking on AC compressor, what is it?
I overheated today and when I came back to my truck hours later, this was hissing because it was leaking. I drove it back home and it wasn't leaking then after I got back, not audibly anyways, but then hours later started randomly leaking again.
It's threaded in the center like a schrader and I can spin it back and forth a little and the sound will go away but I can't get in there to really tighten it down without taking things apart. Didn't feel like doing that unless I really knew what I was doing.
Right behind it is what I assume to be the pressure relief valve but that wasn't leaking.
Is it just coincidence that this started leaking today? I assume it had to do with the overheat. I can't find anything online about it.
PO did the insulation wrap and I'm aware that there is a bolt missing on the compressor. This thing was horribly maintained.
