Gauge Dilemma

So, I was checking out Grigg's thread on gauges and it got me thinking about the ones I'm going to be buying here. I'm looking to add three gauges. Herein lies my problem......which ones?? lol

There's soooooo many it makes my head spin. What would be the best three to cover my butt? I know one gauge is def going to be a vac/boost gauge to keep my fuel economy in check and for a future mod =]

So that leaves two gauges. I'm thinking that one of these would be best: Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Tranny Temp, Rear Diff Temp, T-Case Temp

Some specs to give you an idea of what I'm working with....
4.0 SOHC, Manual Transmission, Manual Transfercase, 31 Spline 8.8, Torsen L/S

I have a manual tranny, I thought *in my feeble mind* that it wouldn't be worthwhile unless you had an auto.

A transmission temperature gauge would not make my top three if it were on a manual transmission vehicle
After your stated vacuum pressure I guess my next choice would be oil pressure
Then if 2003 does not have an 'actual' gauge (not an idiot light disguised as a gauge) it would be engine or coolant temp

I'm pretty sure the factory dash temp gauge is real. I'm glad someone else thought the same thing about the tranny temp gauge.

So a vacuum gauge, oil pressure, and............?

I was thinking about a rear diff temp sensor but it seems like it'd be about a b1tch to install and run the wiring somewhere safe, treating my truck the way I tend to do. =]

I don't want no dang tranny temp gauge! I'd rather have a t-case temp or rear diff temp gauge.

How about a how far my foot is up your *** gauge??? lol

Do you have an e-fan? I dont know if you would put one on your truck after the last time though. I would say Water temp if you were.

But um... oil pressure and vacuum then or I know get an EE kit and get a BOOST GAUGE!!!

The vac gauge I'm looking at has boost dummy

It's (EE S/C) a possible future investment since I have a low mileage motor that has yet to be broken in =]

Air/Fuel would kick butt but I'd have to tap in another o2 sensor.

I'm new to the whole gauge scene. I won't be worried about the air/fuel until(if) I get the EE S/C.

I am going to go with Trans, Vac/Boost, and Fuel mix ratio. I hav a manual trans and know that certain rpms consistantly increase the temp of the fluid.

since you have a manual tranny Travis, go with a combo of how many gauges you want from the following list: (listed most important to least)
- oil pressure
- vaccum
- water temp
- voltmeter
- diff temp
- a/f ratio
- fuel level

you don't need a tranny temp gauge with a manual....

i am running all of those except for the a/f ratio gauge...

Ditto.

Edit: Whoops! Just noticed you have a manual. Nevermind. How about a real voltage gauge to monitor your charging system, especially if you plan on big lights.
