Mpg and headlight question

Recently i noticed a huge drop in fuel economy. It started after i installed the hids and i always drive them with them on, day or night because im a tool. Was wondering if driving with headlights completely off to constantly on would load the motor and affect mpg? Its a significant loss, going from 270 miles from a tank to 250. Thought hids had little to no draw after warm up. Thanks

Highly unlikely, you most likely need a tune up.

There is such a thing. Manufactures were experimenting with higher power HID and the bulbs were surrounded by oil to cool them. Since oil has a different density than air, the reflectors and optics needed to be redesigned for the light to focus right. Such lights are way too bright for headlamp use though.

And there IS such a thing as Blinker fluid. Volvo semi trucks had liquid cooled flashers for a long time and they would leak and then burn up if you didn't refill them. Seriously...

Well you made my day. A good laugh before 8am is always perfect.

Your HID's and MPG are unrelated in every aspect. I'd recommend a tune up or maybe ease up on the gas. May Florida switched to winter grade fuels, seeing as you guys have been getting more cold and snow then us.....LOL

Incorrect.

They are completely related. If you leave your lights on and drain the battery, you'll get ZERO miles per gallon. lmao

Ok guess its back to driving with them on full time. Just a side question, hids have less of a draw on the battery compared to halogens after warm up, right?
