You could do what I did. I made a wiring harness for the OHC + Auto-dim mirror (+ Auto-headlights). It goes down the A-pillar to just near the interior fusebox. At that point, I installed a 9-pin molex connector, and wired the other half of the connector to the various places it needed to go (engine bay for temp sensor, behind radio to GEM for VSS, Acc. power, etc). Pick up a length of the "split loom" stuff at your favorite auto parts store, too. Cut it to length, thread the wiring through it, and then use electrical tape to cinch it up (similar to how the original Explorer harness looks). It'll make it TONS easier to keep everything neat and tidy behind that A-pillar, and assure you won't be pinching one of the wires when you snap the plastic trim piece back into place.

No, the split loom is just a sheathing that you encase the wires in. It's a wire management tool -- it doesn't contain any wires until you put them in! :) When I made mine, I picked up 6 different colors of hookup wire (I needed 7, but the polarity on the temperature sensor is not critical, so I ran the same color [yellow] for both leads in my harness).
