Learned something new today...
So apparantly the MAF sensor also controls the transmitions shifting. I put my intake back on and forgot to plug the MAF back in and took the truck around the block, well it shifted VERY VERY hard from first to second and second to first, got it home, checked the fluid, it was good, saw the plug, pluged it in, truck runs fine... stupid me.... lol

The transmission calibration uses tables based on Speed and Load. Load is a calculated value but its most important component is the MAF sensor input to the PCM. Without the MAF input, the PCM goes into limp mode and relies on the Throttle Position Sensor, which is a very poor substitute.
