need help wiring CSM to 06
I'm trying to add a CSM to my 06 so that I can install factory keless entry and I think I have all the wiring figured out except for 2 wires. Since the 06 trucks dont have a GEM module, I need a little help figuring out where I can hook these 2 wires that would normally go to the GEM, if possible. 1st wire is on connector 274a(on CSM) PIN 11 LB/WH which is used for GEM/CSM illumination, signal - would normally go to GEM 2100b PIN1. The 2nd wire is on connector 274b(on CSM) PIN 10 BN/LG which is used for GEM/CSM illumination, signal - would normally go to GEM 2100b PIN 20. I'm thinking I may be able to hook these wires to LG/OG to courtesy lamps or interior lamp relay? Please electrical gurus help :) Thanks

As you probably know, the 2004+ SJB replaces the GEM, the CSM, a relay box and the interior fuse panel use that were used on earlier Rangers.
The integration of these components means that the external interconnecting wires between the GEM and the CSM do not exist on 2004+. There may be a way to tap into the traces of the circuit board that perform the same functions of those wires but there is no documentation in the Wiring Manual on the inner workings of the SJB that would tell if/how one might do it.
Here is what little info I was able to find on the two wire functions for a 2001~2003 CSM:
The brown/light green wire is the output from the CSM that sends a request to the GEM for illuminated entry on at unlock and off at lock. You could probably simulate the GEM's role by using a relay and a timer circuit. Or you could probably ignore this wire and just not use this function of the CSM.
It is not clear but it appears that the light blue/white wire carries a voltage level from the GEM to the CSM to tell the CSM whether any door or doors is ajar or not. The CSM definitely needs this input to function. I don't have any info about how the voltage varies with ajar/not ajar nor how to simulate it. I could be wrong but I doubt that it as simple as tapping into the dome light or door ajar switch wires.

I wonder if it would be possible to get a gem from a junkyard and wire the bare essentials to enable the csm and gem to work together and allow these functions?
OR
I could scrap this project and if I could find a aftermarket keyless entry kit that uses the factory remotes, I would do that too, but none exists as far as I know.

I really need to take a look at what wires I do have down in that box because I think there is 2 different versions of the SJB, one for vehicles w/power and one without. Maybe I could wire up power and grounds and see what kind of voltage these wires are outputting when locking and unlocking the vehicle? As far as I can tell alot of the wiring I can splice into @ the sjb, in fact alot of the wire colors are the same.

ya, the csm(keyless entry brain) was $10 from a junkyard. The smart junction box is what is used on the 06's and would require me to install basically the same wiring, but I didnt have any luck finding it in a junkyard and if I bought it new it was ~$170, I also would have to take it to ford and have the thing flashed for my truck
