fog light bulb change

fog light bulb change

if i put 9005's in my foglights in my 99 ranger will it get hot enoufgh to burn the plastic lens or will it be ok because i see everyone is posting that they have them in.

how do you put those in since theyre bigger?

They will go in but the base clearance is a little different. Most of the time, they can be jiggled into place although some owners have said that they needed to file them slightly. As with all Q-H bulbs, do not touch the glass surface.

i have had the 9005's in since 2001. the first time i installed them was a little tricky. but, after the first set, the others (when they burned out) were easy. nothing like 65 watts vs 42!

wow i started this thread 08-30-2005 lol mine are plastic or lexan or something.

i now have the nokio or whatever bulbs in it 9005 they have a nice blue/white tint to it to match my his, dont get the silverstars they burned out way to quick in the fogs or maby it was just me i personaly dont like them. i have gone up to 100w in the fog lights but they wernt white so i swaped them out to these.

hmm... I want some dark dark orange bulbs in their for like DRLs... gotta find some of that transparent paint... can I use 9005s in the newer square fogs?

i'm not sure u might have 9145's i think i tried on my friends and it woule not fit the connector.

pull out your bulb u have now should just twist out or a ring that twists and check the bulb #on it. should be on the back part in white letters

i'm thinking about getting some hella goldstars. it's a yellow 9005 bulb. and when i say "yellow" i mean "yellow" not a bulb that has some faint yellow tint on it.

i was going to get the piaa Plasma ion's thoes are really nice bright yellow since i cant see my fogs anyways casue the hid's cancle them out i was going to put thoes in so i can use thoes in the fog.

but i think its a good idea
