New radiator Qs

Current one is starting to take a leak. So, looking at new ones:

1. If I get one for an automatic (I'm M/T), can I just cap the extra holes? Do they make caps for this purpose or will I need to rig something?
2. Since I'm assuming varied widths on aftermarket units, how much space is there between the fan and the stock radiator?
3. Standard pieces from Checker and AutoZoo are both $159... any preference?

Thanks.

if you get one from an auto truck, yes you can just plug the holes.....that is what i am going to do when i swap my auto tranny for the manual tranny.......i believe the threads are pipe threads....

I've used http://www.radiator.com before. Had my rad in 2 days. It was all new construction and worked fine for 2 yrs til I sold the car. You can even have them increase the cores for only about $10 per row. (which I did)
