clutch position switch bypass

Would anyone know how to do a clutch position switch bypass for a remote starter install on a later model ranger? I have an 07 but likely it would be similar for the last few years. It looks to me that the white pink wire going to the smart Junction box needs a ground that would normally be supplied by the clutch position switch. Would that be correct?

Well I guess no one has done this yet. I will install the remote starter and post back , after I test the switch, if anyone has an interest. By the way , the remote starter is designed for a manual transmission so bypassing the clutch saftey switch in a remote start is safe.

Sounds cool... so I guess when you do this you have to make sure you leave your truck in Neutral then? Knowing me, I'd probably have it in 1st or R and forget... try and start the truck and something bad happen or break, haha...

The remote starters for manual transmission are designed so you don’t forgot.
That's the primary difference between them and those designed for an automatic.
They require that the ebrake be on before they will work. There is also a little sequence of things you have to do before it will go into remote start mode (depending on the make and model of the starter). Like hit a toggle switch three times-pull the ebake up-take the key out...Anyway because of this sequence it's just about impossible to forget..Also if the truck door is opened again, before it remote starts, it will deactivate the remote starter..
I am very forgetful myself. I am even going to mod the truck so the lights work off of accessory power rather than constant power because I leave my headlights on all the time. I have owned manual starters for years and have no fear of that.

That's one heck of a sequence, haha... I dunno. I kinda like the idea of leaving my truck in gear when I'm parked... just in case, ya know?

I absolutely understand that point of view. Besides that safety issue , remote starting can waste gas and some claim shorten engine life. However I live in the Adirondack area of new york where snow and ice can accumulate fast. One near by town got 88 inches of snow in one day. It helps to clear ice from the windshield before driving so it is well worth the risk for me..

Yup block heaters are a great idea in my neck of the woods. Temperatures of -30F to -50F are not uncommon. I am still quite a ways from where i park to AC current though. Hopefully I can build a garage one of these days..
