check engine light

check engine light

my light came on so i went to auto zone to se what is is. they told me the emission contol needs to be replaced. that hard to do? code is P1441

9"Emission Control" can be several different things....chances are with that code,which is quite common in early Rangers,the canister vent solenoid and also purge flow sensor.......easy to replace....comes in complete assy from Ford part# F57Z-9C987-BA for 4.0L .....F57Z-9C987-CA for 3.0L....F57Z-9C987-AB for 2.3L.........hope this helps!

thanks for the part number. i went up to ford and they said it will cost me 110.00 to get that part. since i can not afford it right now does it need to be replaced soon as i get money or can it wait a while. i dont think that this is a serious problem since my truck it running fine but let me know if i neeed to fix it asap. thanks

you should have NO problem running the truck for awhile,this is more of a emission thing.......in other words no you will not do any major harm to your truck......

just cover the check engine light,with a sticker...lol

thanks for the help ill put a sticket on the light til i get it fixed maybe in dec.if i have money.
