Your screen went out. It happens a lot. I had one go out too. You could flick it and it would come on, but go out again soon afterwards. If you dont have access to a junk yard, Ill pick ya one up on wednesday. They are $15 shipped, Just let me know!!!!

John --

before you get too carried away tearing it apart to swap out the display, you might try hitting the [Mode] button once -- each button press cycles between Fahrenheit, Celcius, and no display.

...it's not all that difficult. pull the OHC down, unplug the display module take a couple screws out, remove the bad module... reverse the process to put the new one in. shouldn't take more than 20 minutes total, including the time to remove and replace the OHC in your truck.

Before you get to carried away and start replacing things, check your wiring. Taps can be finicky or it might be a simple as a bad ground.

Always check the simple stuff before throwing parts at it. A rule I almost always forget

John -- I'll agree with you on the ground... the lights, however, are on a different power lead than the electronics, so the fact that the lights work doesn't mean all the wiring for the OHC is intact.
