guage problems

whats up guys, so my fuel guage didnt work since i got the truck, i got the truck from a friend that bought a used set of guages. well i swapped them out and the guage didnt work, so i assume its the sender on the pump right? also my big thing is the old speedo bounced up and down when you got around 45mph all the way to 60mph, the new speedo does it a little but not as much, are they a crappy design or is it possible the cable is sticky inside the outer sleeve and the part that spins it getting hung up?

What year is your truck? It may not have a speedo cable at all.

my brothers 92 was messing up like that, we replaced the "slosh module" and its been fine since.

the slosh module is on the back of the cluster, you can get it from ford.
i have an extra one in my toolbox that i will sell if you are interested.

its a little computer board that pulls out of the back, its held in by a little clip that you push down.

what are the chances that both are bad haha.
it could be a bad ground.
