Icon7 Radio failure

The MP3 radio on my 2009 Ranger has failed. Can turn on & off and get sound, and CD player plays, but none of other buttons work. It reset itself to 600AM, and remains there regardless of what is done. I talked to a local car electronics guy, and he wanted something like $450 to install a new radio and the satellite receiver. Sirrius. Anybody have any suggestions? I've heard everything from disconnect and reconnect the battery to bang the heck out of it. I really miss my satellite radio.

Thanks

It sounds like the radio might be dead. But i've never heard of anything like that.
Have you tried pulling the fuse on it and letting it reset?

Look in your owners manual, but i think its in the fuseblock on the side of the dash, drivers side.
