Welcome to the forum
"Won't crank" means starter motor won't turn the engine.
Just to be clear, so use "won't crank" for starter works but engine won't start/catch and run
Either you battery is low, battery needs to be 12.3volts to 13volts, 12volts and lower is a dead battery
If battery voltage is OK then your battery cables are bad or corroded, they cleaning BOTH ends of each cable, Positive AND Negative.
The clicking noise is a relay trying to close but doesn't have enough voltage.
Car batteries last 5 to 7 years, 2007 may have original battery so.......time for a new one
2007 Ranger will also have PATS(passive anti-theft system) in it's computer, it won't allow starter motor to operate if the PATS key used in ignition is the wrong one, or is not working.
But you would get a rapidly flashing "Theft light" on dash if that happens
