location of vss

location of vss

i just got my ohc and I'm ready to install it but i don't know where the speed sensor wire is the truck is a 1994 4x4 with a 4.0. thanks in advanced

no prob. should be the gray/blk wire on the GEM. behind the radio on the left side.

That link wont help since yours is a 94. I think your truck has a speedo cable that goes into a sensor box. Don't quote me on that though. Search the OHC threads for more info.

Your 94 does have a cable driven speedo but it also has a VSS sensor for the PCM and speed control. The VSS wire is gray/black and available at the speed control servo, at the PCM and at the sensor on the transmission or transfer case. There was no GEM on 94 and earlier Rangers.
