Brake proportioning valve after Cobra disc swap?
Alright so I have a 2000 Ranger with RWABS and not the 4WABS that most that have done this swap have. I have bled the brakes several times and I can tell you it is not air in the system. My truck doesn't seem to stop as hard as it did with drums. It feels like its mostly front brake and a little bit of rear. I cant even get the ABS to chirp when empty and standing on the pedal. Just locks up the front and slides. When I was towing the yesterday I had some major problems slowing down. It seems to stop nice within the first little bit of the pedal but after that it doesn't stop any harder the farther I push down. I need to get this fixed.
What would be the best course of action?

Yeah man, i would probably post up some picutres if i were you, lol.
I think a porpotioning valve is needed.
Are you caipers new? Did you tap on them while bleeding? Air bublles like to hold onto the insides when they are new and tapping them while bleeding is the best.
Also, are you soft lines new or old?

The calipers are brand spanking new. I didn't do the tapping trick but I'll try it after work. The soft lines are used but they dont seem to buldge one bit. I've watched them closely just for that reason. This is also on a 7.5 so the small drum brakes were on it before, so I was just wondering if that could be an issue as well. Seeing as most of the trucks I've seen the swap done on were either newer, or had an 8.8 with the bigger brakes.
EDIT:
So I popped my hood at lunch at work thinking that hey, maybe Ford was cool and put a proporting valve on the master. And they did. So now I just gotta find out if Mustangs came with no ABS and grab one off that and cross my fingers that it fits. Or drill out the casing and just pipe in one from summit racing. I'd really like to have it where on a hard stop the rear is chirping instead of the nothing that's happening now.
