Power Window - Possible to Operate via Remote Starter?

I'm pretty sure this is possible..

I have a remote starter that has an AUX function on the remote. It can send out a ground pulse.. I was thinking about trying to hook it up to roll the window(s) down (and up?)..

Anyone know if this is possible and how to do it?

Thanks!!

its possible. and has been done... but the only problem i see unless it has 2 aux functions haha you would be able to roll em down... but not up. so you would have to get in the car to roll em up... which you might as well do to roll them down..

Doesn't that go the same for the remote start function? You can START the truck, but not KILL it once it's running...

I'd say look at some EVTM's and see what you can find...

Have it drive a relay that closes the contact between the window down wire and the +12V wire going to the window switches.

that's what I was thinking. You would need a module to control how long it sends power to the up/down motor... not enough and the window's down, too long and you risk frying the motor.

I've always wanted this feature. My dad's car had this feature, perfect for hot days. It made it so nice to have the windows all the way rolled down the 20 seconds or so it takes to walk to the car... when you got in it wouldn't be hot at all.

Yea, I found a couple modules that will interface with my remote stater.. Crimestopper CS-5501 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...3483&rd=1&rd=1)

Oh and NeedforSpeed, you can kill the engine via pushing the remote start button again.

Just to clarify some points.

With the right components you can get your windows to do whatever you want. If you're going to be spending money on bits and pieces why not UPGRADE.

On my '96 Bronco I had a DEI Viper 7xx something or other. Here is what it would do.

Remote start/kill
Vent windows
Lower windows in 3 inch increments until completely lowered (step 1,2,3,4)
Lower or raise completely rear power window (It was a Bronco, not a Ranger)
Rain sensor automatically closed windows with sense of water

So basically as mentioned you can do pretty much anything just how much $$$ and wiring spaghetti you want to create!!!
