When ever I go over a bump at any speed the steering wheel shakes side to side.. It's never done this before until a couple days ago.. There is no play in the wheel and I don't know what it could be..Any ideas?
[QUOTE=04RangerDave;1947850]Up and down pushing and pulling on the tire 12'o clock and 6'o clock is ball joints.[/QUOTE12'o clock pushing/pulling and 6' o clock pulling/pushing. It moves pretty bad.. that's not hub?
those are good vids. now i know. and those bearings are freakin goonnnee haha.
i always figured if it squeeks down the road then its prob the ball joints. but i guess not. i learned something today. and i just woke up ha
Does it shake fast from left to right when you hit the bump? I bad a blow outer tie-rod and it did that. Let me find the video. I couldn't stop it from shaking no matter how firmly I held the wheel, i had to stop to make it stop. yours might just be on its way out if you can stop it.
idk what the heck happened to my audio but here is the video
I'd have to stop on the side of the road to have the wheel stop. any bump would make it do that. Im guessing that with the 33's it made me HAVE TO stop since they're a lot heavier and it wouldn't be as bad with a smaller tire.
The noise is horrible! i wish i still had the video of when mine failed sounded terrible
My ranger is down for that reason right now, i though my tire was worn funny as it was making that tire howl noise. Then it was a brake noise now I think it just might fall off. My tools are not at home so I need to drive it another few miles, I may make a vid.
