Wheel Bearing Replacement...
Anyone ever replace their front wheel bearings or have them replaced? I have four-wheel drive, so John's write up won't cover it, although it was quite interesting! Any help with a how to, or how much it cost to get done is greatly appreciated! Oh, and hi to all of you I haven't talked to in months!

the bearing is a ABS/bearing/hub unit
it costs around 125 bucks and you pretty much have to take everything apart to get to it.
first you unplug and un hook the ABS wire from the frame, next remove the caliper and bracket, next remove the rotor, now remove the CV shaft nut and washer, and last remove the 3 bolts from the backside of the knuckle and remove the bearing.
i have a good used bearing i'd part with for the right price.

Got it fixed today under waranty. They ran a test and found bearing had excessive play. They tightened and noise was still there. Aparently they replaced the entire hub assemble. Was told that you can't replace only the bearing, only comes in entire hub set. Reguardless, it's fixed and didn't cost anything. When it's warmer out, I might try and pull it apart and re-pack with water-proof grease, if it's possible.
