Superchips Power Programmer Flashpaq Questions

I have a 2003 XLT 4.0L. I was thinking about getting one of these babies. I really only want to remove the speed limiter but apparently it can do much more. Does anybody have any experience using these. I really want to get it but at the same time in the back of my mind I think it's going to **** with up the truck by messing with it's factory settings. Let me know what you guys think. I can get one used that he only used once in back in may and he still has the receipt for it.

I have had the superchip for about a year. I bought the superchip after I had my body lift and P285 75 16 tires put on my truck. I removed the speed limiter. I changed the rev limiter so I can pull my 3,500 pound boat easier. It is easy to use and and only takes about ten minutes to change the settings. You can go back and set the factory settings and change settings as often as you like. The only thing I cannot figure out is the speedometer adjustment for the tire size, overall I am happy with the performance and I would reccomend the superchip. Hope I helped.

You just plug it in and program it. You don't need to plug it in again until you want to change something.

well you just have to be careful about what you change because you can leave "footprints" in the PCM

what does that mean "foot prints" Does that mean evidence that i programmed it and the dealer will charge me more money to reprogram it? What should I not mess with to not leave "footprints". All I really want to do is remove the speed limiter and maybe toy with the shift points, does anybody know how to do that with the shift points or is it just programmed in to the programmer?

what happens is if you have a PCM issue/check engine light...when the dealer goes in to scan the codes they will be able to see something was changed and somebody was in there...not really a big deal because youre out of warrenty

You can use the superchip to program the truck computer back to the factory settings before you go to the dealer or to have work done.
