temperature gauge and power steering questions
I am asking for help on behalf of my son. He has a 1990, 4 cylinder, manual transmission ranger. His temperature gauge is no longer registering any temperature change. I don't know how long the problem has existed, I just noticed it this weekend when I drove the truck. Where is the best place to start looking for the problem? The truck isn't overheating and there are no alarms or warning lights. I would like to fix this so that he doesn't cause major damage to his truck.
The other problem that he has, is if he makes a very sharp turn, he will blow out the power steering fluid. He usually just refills it and everything is fine until he does it again. The truck was given to him and it sat around for a few years without being driven. I would appreciate any suggestions that you all might have. He loves the truck and has named it. I would like him to have it for several years or at least until he is able to buy another Ranger.
Thank you very much,
