I'd check the connector at the OSS sensor to see if it is loose or if the pins inside are wet and/or corroded. The OSS is the speed sensor on the extension housing of the transmission. The wiring goes from there directly to the PCM. The corrected signal is a straight shot from the PCM to the cluster interrupted only by the large bulkhead connector near the parking brake pedal. If the cluster has ever been off, you can check the connectors on the back to see if they are secure.

Your problem could be in the PCM itself. In my Haynes manual, it says that it receives the information directly from the wheels.

On your 2001, the speed signal does not go through the big connector under the seat like it does on 98~2000. It's good that you greased it though - it might save you from some other problem in the future.

Like I said, the OSS is in the extension housing of the transmission. The wire colors are gray/red and blue/yellow.

well whatever i cleaned the second time in that connector worked because the speedo is working right now and wasnt working right right before i q-tiped it and re-greased it again

It is in the extension housing on a manual trans truck. If you have an automatic, it is toward the back of the transmission case near the extension housing.
