Time for New Battery?

I'm pretty sure my batterys about to die on me. When I have the truck on my windows go up and down lightning fast, but when I turn the truck off they are very slow, same goes with my head lights, they dim considerably after i turn off the truck. I still have the stock battery, just wondering if the wal mart yellow batteries are good or if theres any other batteries that are good quality for about 70 to 90 bucks? Also, I cant tell the CCA of my current battery, the letters are all worn off. Whats a good sized battery for a stock truck?

Where I buy my batteries they are all the same price, regardless of size, so I always buy the largest battery that I can fit into the stock location.

Walmart battery is fine. I always use wal-mart for all automotive stuff that I can. I actually just burnt up my ATV battery after only 2mos of use, they took it back and exhanged it NO PROBLEM.

It sounds like your battery is fine...if it is failing to hold a charge, or your truck isn't starting very easy, then you need a new one.

I always replace the batteries prematurely, I am hard on them.

Haha taking advantage of wal mart. Anyways, just got a thing in the mail today from our local ford dealer, their selling Motorcraft Max batteries for 79.99 for a limited time. Are the motorcraft max any good? I like to stick with motorcraft when I can most the time.

I use Motorcraft Max, and it works great. If I go to a little get together I always leave my radio and park lights on for at least 10 hours, the truck always starts with out hesitation. I've even left my headlights on for 4 hours and it started right up. Make sure to get the battery tested before replacement.

It is normal for the windows to go slow and lights to dim. With the truck running, the alternator has the voltage at nearly 14 volts. With the truck off, the battery sits around 12 volts.

If you find the truck difficult to start, it might be on its way out.

You need 12.2 volts to crank over the engine. So get it tested, if it passes get the alt checked out.

When my windows start go up slow with the key off I lube the tracks.

Once year or so.

I also check the switches, connections.

The voltage on a fully charged battery will be around 12.6V, depending on the ambient temperature. It's current that cranks the engine over.......

they are both made by the same company, johnson controls, so essentially they are the same battery...
