fuse box grounds???

i just rebuillt the 3.0 in my 2001, and ive just about got it all back together except a few wires.
They look like some kind of ground or somthing coming out of the fuse box. they dont go to the battery, and one of the wires that splits off of it goes to the alternator. any ideas, or knowledge on the subject would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Dalton

Is it red? Is it hot at all times? May not be a ground but a positive lead for the starter.

It's not a ground going to the Alt. Alts ground themselves to the motor.
Can you get a pics of the wires in question? I might be able to track them down for you.
