Signal lights randomly don't work...
I own a 1998 Ranger 2WD - Regular Cab - 3.0L V6. It has 175,000 KILOMETERS (just so you know I'm Canadian...lol...) and I am having the weirdest problem.
The signal lights (which have been in for repair three times (!!!)) will randomly just stop working all-together, or intermittently blink very quickly, like a drum roll...
Fuses are fine, bulbs are fine. Singals work fine but just suddenly stop altogether for periods.
Is there any type of kit I might be able to install, like a whole new wiring circuit and interface to activate the signals?

Seriously this time. Change your flasher bulb (not joking, real part). Its a metal can with 3-4 forks sticking out of it. Go to Wal-mart and they are like $3. They will be located right next to the fuzes. To locate it you will need to pull off the plastic lower dash plate and then the metal plate thats on the drivers side. Look around until you find it. It fixes most problems with the blinkers.

Having problems finding it. 
Google searches haven't been too fruitful.
I should explain I'm an auto noob, and I got my truck for a killer deal, but it needs things like:
Fixed Signals
New Shocks/Alignment
New Front Bumper (it has rear-ended someone)
New Deck and Speakers
Its a point A to B vehicle to be used primarily for hauling my audio and lighting equipment to and from gigs. No off-roading. My truck isn't really my "hobby" although I am very serious about fixing it up and learning through doing it.

^ I found the line coming from the front that carries the wiring for the tail-lights. Its the ribbed rubber hose stuff. Anyway, there is a light-grey oblong oval-shaped connector coming off a tributary line from the main hose that has a jack-cover on it, so I am assuming this is the plug I am looking for?
