stock fog lights

Is there a problem with the stock fog lights on the rangers or what? I just replaced the passenger side one a few months ago and it's out again! It seems like every couple of times i got muddin one goes out. Is there a mod for this or some way that i can keep them from burning out? Fifteen bucks for a new light everytime i go muddin is gonna **** me off. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what year yours is, but my 01 Had a huge moisture problem. They were always fogged up. They had 6 replaced under warranty and I had two more done after. The funny part was it was always the drivers side. I even bought an edge bumper from the dealership (which came painted and had foglights already in it) and it fogged up about two days later. I have had no problems with my square 04's foglights.

I think you just answered your own question. Hot lights don't like cool water.

My passenger side actually gets 1/2" or so of water in the bottom .. I always leave em on and it dries out on the way home normally. I wasnt careful once and filled it up while
carwashing.. it must have a massive leak. Driver side one is good though.
on that note anyone have a 02 fog light(round style) for sale on the cheap?

The 01-03 fog lights are crap! I also have had several sets replaced under warranty. The design is poor, if you look at the back, there's no way they can't leak. Not long ago I replaced the drivers side, and wasn't going to pay dealer price [for crap] so I bought one off ebay - it leaks just like the factory light. I guess it's something I just have to live with. I now use the cheap bulbs because I was spending a small fortune constantly replacing the Silverstars.
