vibration problems

i have a 2003 Ranger edge, 3.0L

it seems recently whenever i do about 50MPH or more, that the truck seems to vibrate ONLY when i step on the gas pedal. when i let fully off the pedal, and just coast, the vibration stops, but when i accellerate again, even a little bit, the vibration kicks back in.

any thoughts?

Check your u-joints in the drive shaft. Thats usually what does it when u pick up the gas.

I vote U joints. You can check the pinion yoke to see if it has side movement but I doubt it will. If a pinion bearing it should do it all the time and it would be a rumble or roar, not a vibration.

I vote U-Joints also. Make sure to get the kind with grease zerks, so you can lubricate them periodically after the swap.
