06 Instrument Lights ?

Pulled the cluster in my 06 yesterday and replaced six bulbs, I was down to one and only seeing half the speedo at night. Now both the tach and speedometer are fully lit, but the temp and fuel gauges are still dark ? Looks like I've got to go back in unless there could maybe be something else causing these two to be out still ?

Looking at this, I think I solved it. I bet changed the turn indicator bulbs ! It's hard to tell what you're doing when you can't see if these gauges are lit until it's pitch black outside. I changed the two outer ones on that area, and I think there were three grouped together which I'm guessing is the two gauges and high beam ? Guess I'm off to grab another par of 2721 bulbs. lol

Well, that didn't work. Still no temp and fuel light ? Guess it's time to get voltmeter out.

the temp and fuel light is above the 2 gauges in the middle (at the 12-o'clock position) on the back.

all 5 bulbs are in parallel, so if you don't have one that lights up you either have a bad bulb or a bad circuit trace. The printed circuit has all 5 paths tied together for power.

I would suggest checking continuity on the bulbs you pull and make sure they are open.

I checked continuity on each bulb before I put then in. Directly behind the gauges there are four bulbs close together, three in a line together and one centered above them. Am I on the right ones, they all check good ? I'm going to post back after dark, I really can't be positive they're on or not, but I don't think they are.

Turn over your cluster and look at the back-side.

The one you are after is dead nuts top at 12 o'clock.

Pull it out and check continuity through it. I bet it is open.

Okay, I looked at a picture on ebay of the back and see the one you're talking about, I missed that completely. Went out and sure enough it's open, all should be good to go now !!!

Thanks !
