Icon5 1998 XLT 4 Cyl 5 speed.

Hey folks. I've got a 98 xlt 4cyl 4 sp ranger, and it's blowing the wiper fuse. I replace it with the 30 amp fuse shown in the owners manual, and as soon as I switch on the wipers, it pops again. I haven't found any loose connections or bare spots that would ground it out. Any theories or suggestions? I'm kinda stuck in this one.

here is the wiper circuit for a 1998 Ranger

Same fuse also powers the washer pump
I would pull out the 3 relays, then see if fuse blows, and go from there.

It is most likely a short to ground, inside wiper or pump motor, so an OHM meter would be good to use because 30amp fuses are not cheap

Thanks for the tips, I've rearranged the relays, and it's stopped popping the fuses, now it works, but only on hi/lo, the intermittent only moves it a few inches, and the wipers won't return to park position. I've felt the relays click as they're activated, so I'm reasonably certain they're ok. Couldn't find a short anywhere else.
