Running lights stuck on

Running lights stuck on
I have a 2002 Ford Ranger The Edge with a 4.0 engine. After I tried to hook up a trailer with faulty wiring, the running lights blew out. I was able to find two fuses that had blown and replaced them. Now everytime I turn my headlights on and then off again, the running lights will not shut off. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I was able to find the relay for the tailer tow and replaced it, but I still continue to experience the problem. I will check the other fuses and relays to see if anything else is bad. I havent checked the 40-pin connector yet for it has been artic weather here in Michigan. I appreciate your help guys and I will keep you posted as to what I find.

If you have a blown fuse use a voltage tester and check each side of the fuse to ground. If you want you can take it out and check where the blades of the fuse go in.
You should have 12 Vots on one side and 0 volts on the other side. You may have to have the key in the RUN possition but not running. Also do this with the lights off.
If you have 12v at both points where the fuse goes in you might have a melted wire.
