Can you elaborate what you will be using this for? Do you mean how to create a mobile hotspot in your ranger? Why would you want to do this? It makes way more sense to just buy a portable hotspot from your wireless carrier and keep it in your truck. That way if you get somewhere you can just bring your hotspot with you.

If you mean have your radio be able to use wifi then there are a bunch of high end headunits out there that are able to use wifi through your phone.

WiFi is just a frequency band used by portable devices located within approx. 200ft of each other to communicate.
It has no content except for what the devices have available.

If you want internet access then you need a device that can access the internet and also has WiFi ability.
Mobile internet access is usually gained by 3G/4G cell phone service.
This of course requires a monthly subscription.
Many cell service providers offer sharing plans that allow you to add devices to your cell package and share the data plan.

There are many portable 3G/4G Routers with WiFi.
These can be adapted to 12v
They come with USB port for a cell providers USB 3G/4G "stick" or with a SIM card slot.

And depending on your phone some routers can be hooked up to your phone and share your 3G/4G plan that way.
Some phones also have the ability to become a WiFi "AP"(access point), this would be in it's settings menus, you would setup the phone as a "wifi router" with a SSID and password, just like any wifi router.

A "router" is needed so more than one device can connect via WiFi, the router allows devices to "talk" to each other and also to internet sites as available.
