anyone know what it is for or where it goes? it is a yellow/purple wire that went into the red connector behind the fan speed switch....

Still looking at a 2000 wiring book.

Closest I've found is YE/BK (goes to the GEM) for Driver's Door Ajar switch.
Another YE/BK puts 12 volts to the Radio in Acc or Run

There is a YE/RD at the blower switch, looks like a medium Hi Fan Speed wire to the Resistor Block, #3.

AGAIN, I'm looking at a 2000 wiring diagram.

there is a yellow/black, but like you said, it is switched power for the radio....

Confirm it's a Yellow wire with a Violet stripe?

Have found Violet wire w/ Yellow stripe in Transmission controls.....

Also YE/RD to RF ABS sensor Hi and YE/BK to Lo (@ ABS module tho')

YE/RD to DS PW motor in/out


Not finding a YE/VT wire ANYWHERE in the 2000 book, brotha.

 

it probably is something that is particular to a '97.......it is a YE/PU wire.......

 

Yeah, I'm sure someone with a 97 Wiring Manual will jump all over it....

How about a white/purple? Sometimes white discolors to yellow over time. The 97 has a W/P which is a 15A "hot in run" wire to the original HVAC mode selector switch.

 

i will double check it when i get home, but i could have swore that it was yellow........if i remember correctly from last night, this wire goes into the fan speed switch........i think it goes into the red connector....
