Ford OEM 6ft Tonneau Bi-Fold (Chicago area)

I've decided to sell my tonneau, because a cap will suit my needs better. It came as a stock option. The cover is shaped to come over the bed rails so rain runs right off it. It is in great cosmetic condition, but the rear lock leaks a bit. The cover folds in half, and can be removed with two people if you want to haul anything bigger if need be. These are new from Ford are $1k+. I haven't found any threads anywhere of one being sold. I'll sell this cover for $200. I prefer to sell this in person. I will consider an offer to meet in the middle. If you want me to ship this to you, I will not come down on the price to accommodate the shipping since it will be considered "oversized" by shipping couriers. I will also take any offers or trades.

ChiDave,

I have one of these tonneau covers, Ford p/n 2L5Z-99501A42-AB. I'm looking to install it on my 2011 Ford Ranger Sport Extended Cab 4-dr 4x4, but need some direction on how to install the latch assemblies in the bed-corner stake pockets. Seems there are 2 different sets of these latches included. Any help is appreciated.

Ford 6ft Tonneau Bi-Fold

I just purchased the Ford Tonneau Bi-Fold from the private seller. It came without the key and I have no idea how to make a new key or re-key it. I called Ford, but they told me that this is not an original Ford product and I should call Leer dealer. There is no manufacturer on the cover and I have no idea who to call. I was hoping to replace the whole lock, but I cannot remove it. There is a number on the lock, but again I have no idea who will be able to make a key using this number.
Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you

Try any Bed Cap sales place. Here's a picture of the struts from mine.

Hi, I got mine without a key as well. Found it was keyed to "an" ignition key, but not the ignitionof my truck. Went to my local (Albuquerque, NM-Bill's Key Shop) and one of their sharp guys was able to cut and try several times until he had it solved Any good key shop should be able to cut a Ford Ranger ignition key to work. Hope this helps. I think I found an article online regarding "changing the cable" which included information regarding removing the lock. Will see if I can find and attach

Can you open the cover without the key to the lock?

I am looking to buy one of these and there is one quite far away from me but will make the drive as it is so cheap but does it need the key to open?

There are 2 locks (one each side) which require a key. You will have to remove one of the locks and take it to the local locksmith. Costed me about $40 to make.

To install the cover did you have to drill anything or was it pretty easy to install? Are the any instruction manuals online to help install it? Thanks a lot for the help tho! I can’t find any info hardly over these!

I spent hours trying to find any instructions, but did not find anything.
No drilling required - just locate all existing openings and install the hardware which comes with the tonneau.

Hey I drove up there this morning to pick it up and I got it and there’s quite a few brackets lol. How many did yours come with and did you ever find any instructions on how to install it?

I didn't find any instructions, but I figured it out with my friend help. If you want to send some pictures of the brackets I can try to explain where they should go.

This is all I got in pretty sure I’m missing a couple of pieces but if I drill some holes or use self tapping screws I’m fairly certain I can make it work but I know those aluminum pieces go in the middle and the things for the latches go on the corners(I have all 4 latch pieces) but the others I’m not sure

I think you are missing a few brackets. Here are a few pictures from my truck. Hopefully, they will give you a better idea on what you have and missing.
