I have a 2nd tuner I am considering selling. I tried using it for my wife's Focus, but I'm not convinced the guy writing the tunes knows what he's doing.

No, but it's the same tuner he uses.

I should clarify this doesn't already have Ranger tunes, even if it had tunes written they wouldn't work for your truck since each one is written to an individual vehicle.

Once you have this you can have any SCT authorized tuner write you tunes.
