ebay or junkyards, here, etc....No you don't need to run extra wires. All you'll need is to make sure it comes with the extra harness(has 3 bulbs in stead of 1). Unsnap your single bulb harness, snap in the 3 bulb harness, bam your done. Your wires are already there, so no need to route anyt new ones.

2004+ Rangers do not have the wiring in place to add cargo lights on a plug and play basis. You can go a couple of ways to get them working.
One way is to run wiring to a dash switch. Then choose or add a fused power source that allows them to be active with the key on or all the time (your preference).
Another way is to tap and extend the dome light wire (BK/LB) above the headliner to power the cargos (BK/PK). Certain years and models of Ford pickups have been wired this way from the factory. Obviously, the cargos would come on every time you open a door or move the dimmer wheel to the 'always on' position.
