60/40 to bucket
#3
I had an upholostry shop do it and it was pretty easy it turns out.
When you flip the seat upside down you see the plate that supports the middle "half seat". Just cut that off then trim the excess material and tuck it under. I can't remember what the guy did to the console support, I'm guess just cut it off and wrapped the excess around the hole

ajw1275,
How’s this working out ?
If not so far here is an idea for less expensive Buckets.
Your passenger seat is already the same bucket seat you would get as an OEM Bucket Seat.
All you need is the driver’s side, IF you don’t need the Lumbar Support you can get another passenger seat from a 60/40 setup of the same color and switch the tracks to fit your truck.
I took out my 60/40 and was going to put in a set of bucket seats from an extended cab Ranger. I was all set to do some cutting and welding on the seat tracks when I noticed the tracks unbolted from my seats.
when I checked out the Bucket seat those track unbolted and my tracks bolted up, Wham/Bang got bucket seats without any extra work.
There is work in disassembling the seats to get the tracks off, backs first.

Has anybody installed the bucket seats from a 2007 Ford Edge into a 2001 Ranger? Recently there seems to be a surplus of Edge seats in my area. Since the Edge has airbags built into the seats, I assume if you don't run power to the air bags that will not be an issue.
Thanks in adance for your help!

If you wanted to install seats in a Ranger from the something other than a Ranger or Explorer, then you'll need to switch the seat mounts. I've never done it and don't know how much work goes into it
Personally, I don't want seats with airbags, just one more thing to go wrong and cause an injury
