I've never seen a Ranger or Explorer with an ashtray light, although I've heard of either having one. Although granted, I haven't actively hunted for them either.

As far as what does and doesn't have lights, it's rather hit and miss with the Ranger. My 99 didn't have a glovebox light, but my father's 03 does. On the other hand, I haven't seen an explorer that didn't have a glovebox light. I would presume the ashtray would be similar. If yours doesn't, you can ****** one off an expo or mountaineer (95-01) and tack it onto the battery saver circuit.

They do not as OEM. However, with a little work I was able to modify the ashtray frame to fit the ashtray light assembly just like OEM (the ash tray light assembly from a late 90's/early 2000 Explorer is what you need). LED added for good measure, since ash trays are just storage compartments these days.
