A Question for those with the Stick
So where do you guys mount your cb's. I searched and found a lot of threads but none of them came up with anything really helpful.
Heres' the deal, I have the small cheap cobra for a cb and am going to be installing the explorer full length center console in my vehicle soon. That means I'm going to have to move my cb from laying loose on the floor to somewhere, I don't like them on the dash and I can't install it underneath (I'm 6'-4.375" Tall) and my knees barely fit under there as it is. Also I am planning to install an OHC so thats out of the question up top.
Anyone ever see/create a new place for it out of the way?

If you replace your factory radio with a single-DIN aftermarket, you have a large area beneath that radio for a CB. That's one thought.
Mounting it straight on top of the dashboard is another.
With the overhead console being there, you really eliminate the best place for a CB radio up high. With your height, the restriction on keeping it high up is going to put you either in the radio slot or on top of the dash, really.
The best place, in my opinion, is the ashtray/airbag cutoff/Audio-In (depending on the year) slot beneath the air conditioning

why not get a removable one. just put it in when you need it. my uncle has a ton of crap in his garage and pulled one out one day. he put the antenna (magnetic base) in the bed at the back window and the cb is hand held. i thought it was usefull as i like the clean and simple look of things.
another option is making a bracket behind your seats so the cb is at the back of your console, and sitting between the two seats right next to you.

Hmm.....
OHC + Explorer full length + Manual trans......
Inside the center console? In the coin holder spot? Might need an external speaker though.
What about cutting a hole in the center console on the driver side, so that just the face of the radio shows. Got your mic clip screwed into the console as well. that'd be pretty slick.
Or even trimming the piece infront of the shifter and putting it there. Like in between the shifter and the dash, would be slick as well.
Just for some pictoral reference...(and i'm a pic *****. lol)...
