console arm rest differences?

looking to install a factory ranger center console in my truck and notice while looking for replacement arm rests that 01-03 is different than 04-11. Anyone know what the diff is? I honestly do not know what year my console came out of.

The difference is the 04+ stopping pin and bolts are in a reverse type location on the console and will not go on the 01-03 bracket . I have tried to integrate them into 01-03 trucks but they just won't go.

How does this affect anyone when I'm looking for a console mount? Should they be looking at specific years only or should they make sure all parts are from one group of years or another?

Your mount is for the shorty console, they are all the same size so you have no worries. The arm rest he is talking about is the ones that come in the 60/40 bench seats where the brackets are a one piece unit with the seats.

The arm rest in my 2003 EDGE, 60-40, unbolted after you take the seat track off of the driver's side.

actually I am talking about the arm rest on the shorty console. When looking on ebay they list the black arm rest as being different from 01-03 and 04 and newer...

I have only sold and purchased the Explorer type, except for the last one a black shorty. I think is Ranger.
All had the separate arm rest and all were the same as far as arm rest and mounting.
What i mean by separated arm rest is the one that is separated from the main body of the console and then there is a cover on the console compartment.

I know there is an arm rest that is part of the console on some of the console (not the 60-40) but that is the only difference I have ever noticed.

Is there a Ranger only shorty center console with the separated arm rest, i don’t think so but just asking ?
