Dual fog light switch?

I've seen several of you have the second fog light swtitch installed i was wondering how you make the cutout so smooth? It looks factory but it's not.. help me out here. what's the trick?

Thanks,
Chris

actually Chris, in most cases it is factory. A vast percentage of those that you see are out of Explorers or Sporttracs. The switch cutout was used for the rear defroster i believe.

but for those that are custom most of them just used either tiger hair or body filler (bondo)

The hole for my second fog switch was just cut into the factory Ranger bezel and smoothed with files and sandpaper. No body filler was necessary. Rounding the edges mimics the cutout for the factory fog switch hole.

The other method is to modify an Explorer/Mountaineer bezel that already has the second hole for the rear defrost switch. Removing the Ex's rear wiper/washer switch opens up a location for the Ranger's 12v power point. This requires only a minor modification to make it fit.

Thanks Bob for posting a pic of mine :)

Bob, was right about mine. another note is that you will notice that the rear windshield wiper display(above where the 12v is located) has been filed in. i was already getting it painted so i just had it filled in and painted and it came out perfect

Hey Bob,
I've spent a lot of time checking out your mods and such, but I never really noticed the defroster button in your bezel. Could you explain what you have it hooked up to do? Thanks in advance.

So far, it's only hooked up to the dash illumination.

The plan is to wire it to the timer in the GEM to operate the heated mirrors that I got from a 2002 Mountaineer. I have the wiring figured out and it wouldn't take much to finish it but I've been working on other stuff (exhaust, intake, rear discs, dinger mod, etc). This one has just kinda drifted to the back burner.

Very cool. When you do get to it, if it's not too much trouble, could you maybe put something together on it like you did for the oil pressure gauge?
