Could I put a new wheel in my 97?

 

I think most will swap out fine....but you may need matching airbag and clockspring for the wheel you put on. I put a 01 on my 96

 

i have a 2000 clockspring and a 2000 airbag with a 2003 edge steering wheel... but isnt my interior different? why not just get an aftermarket steering wheel?

 

I believe the current interior has pretty much been the same since '95..up untill '03- same steering wheel, i'd think it would fit.

 

As for why not an aftermarket wheel......

They all look stupid to me. Reccomendations?

 

there are some billet ones that look cool, but i dunno because i think you lose the airbag

yea i brain farted on the airbag thing, and what interior he has...a newer steering wheel should fit...the reason i swapped mine out is because i had the xlt faux leather wrapped one and it had big spots where the leather had rubbed off. so i got one of the plastic ones from an 03 edge.

 

faux leather, lol..although I know mine's real leather, and it's the original '00 XLT steering wheel..

 

well whatever it is...it rubbed off.

 

I wish I could swap in the FR500 Mustang leather steering wheel. :(
