What exactly are you trying to accomplish by removing the mount?? I'm just curious.

I was led to understand that heat & a razor blade should do the trick. I found several sites on the internet (searching Google for "rear view mirror removal") that endorse this process.

I've been trying to discover the definitive method for easily removing the mirror and not removing the 'button' from the windshield. I have a new mirror I want to slide onto the existing button...

for an ohc? My mirror has two different pivit points....one at the windshield mount, and one at the actual mirror.....so i angled it down to make way for the OHC. Maybe the older models don't have the feature?
