I've tried to search on these forums and on google and can't find a direct answer

what are other years of ranger or explorer seats will fit in my '87 ranger? if not just those two, any other car/truck/years?

I might pull out the seats of my moms 97 explorer and '95 ranger to see if they fit

 

rangers up to 97 should, and explorers may if your truck is an ext cab.

 

From what I have seen and read, a lot of seats can have the Slider Tracks removed and depending on your ability you can adapt almost anything in its place.
Ext Cab Brackets won’t work in Std Cabs, some Explorer Brackets need mod’g to fit so it is a catch as catch can type of thing.
But pick the seats you want depending on the size, width/height/length of the seat portion and then make some brackets.

Bolt ins, I can’t help you except try seat brackets from the same type of vehicle you have once you have the correct brackets then you can make a good decision on what will fit.

Sorry this isn’t real helpful but I am going through it now and I am finding a hit or miss situation.
