The dash on the switch **** doesn't light on the headlight switch, but it does on the 4x4 & hvac *****. It might be possible to drill out one of the other ***** to make the shaft fit the different **** to make the headlight switch light up, but it would be a bit of work.

An easier solution would be to drill a 3mm hole in the headlight switch **** for a 3mm led, wire it up with some flexible wire that taps into the regular illumination wiring.

It wouldn't be a dash, but even a 3mm circle would be better than nothing.

Old thread but this turned up as I was searching to see if anyone had modded the stock switch to light up.

I am going to mod the stock switch by drilling a small hole in it and then cutting some of the underside of the dash switch so that light will seep below the 3 circles. I have some fiber optic cable that I will use to then put into the switch and have an illuminated green circle /dot on the switch.

I'll post pictures once I'm done but should be kinda subtle but will look neat.

Icon2

Here is an update for my LED in the headlight switch. Wasn't too hard to do either.

Looks good!

Didn't I let you know 01RangerEdge???? I've got plug-n-play led modded bulb holders for headlight, fog & 4x4 switches

Here's one of my older headlight switch led modded bulb holders:
Attachment 93827

I never knew the headlight switch lit up until I heard about someone doing a led mod... soon after I grabbed an extra switch, found out the bulb holder is removable & put my own twist on the led mods.
I modded my headlight switch with a green led but once I have time, I'm going to change mine to blue to match my radio/voltmeter/hvac...

That little bulb is on whenever the truck is running, so they burn out pretty quick. Ford knew what they were doing though... you can't just buy the bulb holder... you gotta buy the whole darn switch.

If anyone is interested in my led mods, just drop me a PM.
Hello Buggman! I'm interested in purchasing one of your mods for the Headlamp Switch. I never knew about this illuminating until after I took my dash apart, never really came to mind. Thanks!

Hey Buggman

I have a 2001 Edge. Do you still offer the led replacement that lights the icons for the headlamp switch? I just want the stock green. I have a good green
cover. Plug and play would be awesome like your picture in ths thread
