Trouble with Rev Glo Gauges
#1
I am having trouble lining up all the indicators on my reverse glow overlays. Plus I am having trouble keeping the middle cluster from bowing up in the middle and messing with the movement of the needles. Is there an easy way to get the gauges to stay down and get them all lined up with the indicator lights. I have them in right now but only like a quarter the indicators are lined up and the tach needle is stuck at 1000 and does not like to flow up and down the gauge and the mph needle, i guess does not move fast enough and does not reflect the correct speed. A cop flashed me with his light when I thought I was going 52 in a 50, but later on today someone behind me told me I was going 65, but I wasn't flying past everyone else on the road. Help is greatly appreciated.:)
I have RTV'd the gauges down and they are flat, i have trimmed around the needles and not stuck them all the way down cause they still hit against the gauges. When I plug the right side plug(as you look at the cluster from the seat)the speedo needle jumps to 30 mph(found out while listening to music and plugged it in)I tried putting washers behind the needles to set them up, didn't work. That is getting really annoying. I have torn my dash apart almost a dozen times trying to get the gauges to work. I believe it has something to do with that one plug, but beyond that fact i have no idea whats causing the needle jump or how to fix it.
Sorry for the long rant.

This is getting ridiculous. I put them back together w/ the torn up stock gauges and now none of the needles move, the speedo doesn't even attempt to move at all. If you pull the needles off, are you screwed if you don't mark exactly where they go? I have to drive home in a few days and I don't want to drive 400 miles with no speedo or fuel gauge. I don't want to take it to Ford cause I know once they see I have torn it apart it won't matter and I am also just out of warranty so I don't think they would cover it at all. This is getting really irritating that I have no gauges and that everyone else that has done this seems to have no problem except for some lining up issues.

I blew the speedo fuse a time or two myself. I seem to remember it being either fuse 10 or 30, but don't quote me on that.
Honestly I don't know what to tell you.. I put my reverse glow gauges on over the stock gauges, with the needles on, then I pulled the stop pins, marked out where the needles fell to on the indiglo gauges with masking tape, took the needles off, painted them, then put them back on (but not all the way in.) it sounds like you've started out all wrong and tore up the stock gauges. I don't really have any idea how to get you back to good.

I started just like you are supposed to. Stuck them over the stock face and taped them down. But the center was always sticking up and the needles would not move freely. I didn't know then that you had to mark where the needles stopped and the weights in the needles and everything. I took them off the glue them down and now they don't work. I will check all the fuses again, just checked them the other day. So i guess i am out of luck until I can get a new cluster, cause I am not gonna go through Ford. But none of the gauges work,(they move, but they just don't seem right) not just the speedo. But the lights for the cluster work, so I don't know what the hell to do.
