you will need to get 4 small metal rods that will fit in the small square holes in each corner of the raido. insert a metal rod about 6 inches into each whole, and once you have one in each hole, just start to wigle the radio around, and should slide right out

or you can just go to any auto parts store and find them. if not, i'm sure you can find them through someone on the internet.

Take the bezel off, hook your fingernails around the tabs that hold it in and pull it out. Easy, free, and you dont need to a trip to the autoparts stopre

Wrong.. love how people dont read years and comprehend the style before answering the "bezel" on a 1989-1994 goes all around the gauges and everything its kind of a pain to take apart and isnt time effective as just getting a less then $5 tool and poping the radio out...

In a pinch (or whenever I couldn't find my Ford stereo removal tool as shown above ^), I've used a couple bent coat hangers poked through the factory "removal" holes.

If you don't have anything that will fit in those four little holes, you could always remove the entire bezel & push in the tabs from the back side (already mentioned, but it's FREE. just takes a few minutes to find the sockets to fit those little bolts).

I was able to pull my radio out, since I didn't have the proper tools, by removing the entire bezel it is mounted in,and then squeezing the tabs that lock in in place, and pushed it out of the front of the bezel from the back. Took no more than 5 minutes to undo the 2 bolts that hold the bezel on,drop the the bezel down, squeeze, pop and push.

*ok,so that's for newer ones ^

The tool is more effective in the older model's case. Very thin screwdrivers seem to work as well. Pulling the radio out of my Contour was a bit of a biatch. I strugged in my B4000 for about 20 minutes with screwdrivers,home-made removal tools etc before I finally said screw it and just took the bezel off and popped it out which ended up being easier, lol
