new carpet for my black ranger xcab

fixing to upgrade the gray interior of my black ranger by replacing the carpet and seats. Already have gray power seats out of an explorer no headrest to install, question is should i replace the gray carpet with gray or go back with black? Next question is who is a good supplier to get a quality carpet with sound deadener from and should it come with an installation kit? All advice helps thanks Charlesnew carpet for my black ranger xcab-img_20160611_195037996-1-2000-ranger.jpg

i would go with grey. a lot of people don't like LMC truck but i think they're pretty good. I know they have carpet kits and sound dampener kits but I'm pretty sure they are sold separately

This may not be what you're into, but I'll propose another idea for you. For 20-50 bucks (depending on the cost of the supplies you buy) you can install non oem carpet in your truck.

Here's what I mean. Having a prairie tan interior in my '99, I had (naturally) prairie tan carpet. This carpet was the original and was rough in some areas. I went to the hardware store and for 20 bucks laid in brand new carpet with padding that I'd say is equal to or slightly greater than the oem as far as sound deadening goes and quite a bit comfier too.

Of course the final product is highly dependent on your own skill. A guy like me who's never laid carpet before in his life somehow managed to pull of a pretty good looking carpet installation, although with imperfections naturally.

The carpet in which you choose is probably the most important part. Given the curves of the Ranger's floor pan, you need a carpet that is very flexible, non waffle back type. indoor/outdoor carpet is what I went with, and it's nice and soft to the touch but still easy to clean. The padding you choose can simply be a pair of old rugs where your feet would be, if you wanted to. I actually tried this and the end result is comfortably cushy. Of course, standard carpet padding will work just as well.

Doing it this way also means that the entire floorpan is covered with padding and sound deadening, vs oem which is not.
